INTRODUCTION: On the 9TH of June 2022 at 12PM UTC, we held an AMA with RelationLabs—a multi-chain decentralized Web3 social graph. Here is a recap of the event if you missed it.

Host: 1. Please begin by giving us a brief Introduction of yourself and the team behind RelationLab.
Also, tell us a little about It’s innovation.
Please write “done” once you complete your answer!

Santry: Hello~everyone. I’m Santry, The CMO of Relation. I am responsible for Relation’s brand and operation globally. I joined the blockchain industry in 2017.
Before entering the blockchain industry, I worked in the traditional finance and internet industry and have nine years of experience in marketing operations.
Relation’s long-term positioning is committed to being a social graph data value explorer on Web3.

Our vision is to provide the most powerful and vivid social relationship graph for the global multi-chain ecosystem and jointly explore a new paradigm of people and organizations, relationships and behaviors on Web3.
Based on the underlying protocol of Dfinity, we have launched Relation One, a social DApp to help users build social graph networks on Web3.
We have also built the Relation Link Tool Suite to enable developers to quickly access and index Web3 social graph data. And become the next-generation social infrastructure for Web3.

We have now launched Bazaar and Web3 homepages on our website, as well as allowing users to register for a quick experience of Relation One’s products which are crucial to unlock the potential of the Web3 social graph and empower Web3 social network connectivities.
Welcome to check:

Host: 2. So, tell us more about Relationlab and the multi-chain decentralized Web3 social graph its Building. How does it function and how can users make the Most out of it.

Santry: Relation is a social graph infrastructure for multi-chain ecosystem development. Currently, we are building on the IC to support our product.
As the web3 social network building should not be limited to one public chain ecosystem, we have also successfully deployed the graph database in the Pallet layer of Polkadot’s substrate framework.
In the future, we will also enter into the deployment of public chains such as Arweave and Solana to enrich the integrity of social data.

The current cross-chain technology is not perfect enough to ensure secure privacy during data communication, so we adopt a multi-chain deployment strategy.
For users, there is almost no sense of our multi-chain technical structure during the experience of our products, nor is it necessary to understand it.
We provide multi-chain wallet addresses for users to log in, such as Metamask, Internet Identity, Plug, Polkadot, BSC Wallet, and Wallet Connect, in the form of a signature check to help them associate and integrate different public chain addresses, thus obtaining a unified Web3 identity.

Based on the unified identity, users can follow their friends and interact with them on-chain to get a one-degree, two-degree, or even N-degree social network in the crypto world.
We can easily define tags for users, provide them with on-chain friend recommendations and match them with people of the same interest.

Host: 3. Please give us details information regarding the Relation lab token, what is its function within the platform and why is it needed? Also, Help us explore the Relation lab ecosystem.

Santry: According to our roadmap, we will release the official economic model and whitepaper, and develop a data market, in the next six months.
With this new release, users can authorize on-chain identity-related data to be traded on an open data market while data users or developers can pay certain fees to use this data.
The more data a user trades, the more potential value can be realized. Those holding Relation tokens can also participate in community governance and vote on issues such as upgrade plans and community development.

Although we have not yet announced the token details, but we have clear plans to issue tokens. We encourage users to collect medals and complete tasks to earn the corresponding energy value.
We will release official NFTs in a few months, and users can claim rare NFTs with the medals they have on hand to receive the corresponding airdrop tokens. The sooner you enter the Relation ecosystem, the more you can potentially earn in the future!

To accelerate the development of Relation’s ecosystem, the project has multiple plans in place. There is funding for media, communities, or KOLs who can contribute to Relation’s branding;
incentives, branding, and marketing support will be given to those DApps and developers who wish to integrate Relation LinkTool Suite and offer valuable feedback; incubation programs and developer courses will also be rolled out.
Once approved, this support will be available to those who apply on our website. We will provide proper funding and technical support based on our assessment of their business plans.

Host: 4. Lets talk Backers and Partners now, can you tell us about the Partnership deals already made.

Santry: In January of this year, Relation completed a seed round of funding at a valuation of US$20 million, it has successfully secured capital backing from Hashkey Capital, SNZ, Signum Capital, and others.
We are currently supported by Dfinity Official and Huobi Incubator. We already successfully joined IC Bootcamp and Web3 Bootcamp as one of the participating teams with strategic support. Also, we have participated in Huobi Incubator’s Demo Day and conducted more overseas community events to increase the awareness of Relation’s brand globally.
As we are a multi-chain development project. We have recently joined Web3 Bootcamp successfully and are currently building a graph database in the Pallet layer of Substrate and have now released a POA to provide a solution for data indexing and relational network storage for projects in the Polkadot ecosystem in the future.

Recently, we have partnered with PNS (Polkadot Name Service) and .bit (formerly known as DAS) to improve our integrated identity system, a new way for users to manage on-chain addresses.
Other Web3-related partnerships include CCC Protocol, HashMix, MetaOasis, Dmail, and 4everland,etc.

We are also connecting with Huobi Wallet, EverPay, and 5 Degrees. In the future, users can access Relation’s services on Huobi Wallet. It may thus support features like asset transactions and red packets, enriching our social network experience.
Hashkey Me is partnering with us to integrate some of our features, including a unified identity scheme, chats, and contact book. Soon, users can exchange tokens on Hashkey Me wallet while connecting with like-minded token holders through group chats. This is a Web3-based social network ecosystem with privacy preservation by design.

Host: 5. Lastly, can you tell us your current achievements and what stage on your road map are you?
Also, can you share a Bit about the Security state of Relation Lab, since you would be dealing with User Data.

Santry: Sure, we launched the Web version, Bazaar, Web3 homepage of Relation One, and other features recently.
With NFT Club, smart-contract enabled groups can use a certain NFT as a means of entry requirement.

This Friday we will launch additional features such as referrals and group chat support. It is safe to say that Relation’s product line is ready.
With 1.4 million social network graphs generated and a global social graph data view, our project is fulfilling its promise.
we choose to build on Internet Computer — its unique Canister design can be used to store a user’s identity and social relations data while preserving privacy on-chain.

Data are stored in a personal data space truly owned by the user in question. The data include contacts, address book, profile, DAO memberships, asset data, and Dapp authorization records.
In the future, we will provide users with a set of data permission management tools. Users can fully decide which Dapps will have access to their social relations data.

Users can set authorization relating to specific contents, scope, and duration — a real-time authorization scheme with extensive granularity on control.
We also plan to launch a data market fully controlled by users to monetize their data (social relations and behaviors on-chain), trading this valuable resource with those who can make use of it with proper authorization from its rightful owner — the users!
This is how we aim to capture the value of data for users — the best definition of data sovereignty in Web3.

1. Without proper marketing and capital infusion, project dies, how do you convince us you have adequate marketing power and capital to push this project to the top project?
Question by

Santry: I think marketing capabilities and capital support are really important, but good product positioning and team strength are also indispensable factors in carrying a project to the top. It’s a strong combination of strengths that complement each other.
The core of our current marketing strategy is to maximize the reach of Relation on Web3, bring in new users, and enrich the social relations data‘s network.

As a result, we are actively engaging with the global crypto community through our AMA. We launch the Relation Party, an official weekly sharing session every Saturday, to grow more users through the operation.
We also value the influence of crypto influencers, and we are actively working closely with different crypto KOLs to give our brand a voice through their channels.

But I think the most important thing for a brand is to have a good product and a strong technical framework to support our business operations.
We are more about optimizing our development, building more features that interest our users, and providing good technological solutions for web3 projects.

On this level, we work with more projects to spread our brand reach through strong partnerships. As you can see, we have partnered with more than ten influential web3 projects in various tracks, and Huobi Incubator has also awarded us the support.
We are also continuing to bring in more resources to build Relation into the next generation of Web3 social graph infrastructure, which will be a long-term and meaningful thing.

2. With Relation’s “Data to Earn” feature, if I’m willing to provide data value to DApp or related benefits by authorizing, then I’ll earn a token for the data I contribute. Can you please analyze the “Data to Earn” feature? What kind of data will I provide to earn these rewards?
Question by

Santry: We will be planning to go live with a data trading marketplace and an authorization management suite so that the model of Data to Earn can work.
As our team is still in the process of designing the logic, it’s not easy to tell too much right now. But I can briefly answer this question.

In the future, users will be able to manage data authorization in the management suite, and depending on the Data you open up, you will be able to access the data trading marketplace. After the payment is made, the transaction will be automatically aggregated.

In this regard, the data demander pays the token, and you receive a corresponding percentage of the revenue. It is up to you to decide what Data you can open up, including your profile, NFT avatar, address book, friend network, assets, etc.
If you do not authorize this, no one, including us, will be able to access your private data as it is stored in the data space and owned by you.

3. I learnt Relationlab has some form of social network integrated, I’m curious as to what kind of data would be collected from users but I couldn’t find privacy policy anywhere in your website. Can you tell us more about the data to be collected?
Question by

Santry: We want to make an important point here, unlike companies in Web 2.0, which provide products and services to gain access to users’ data.
In Web3, however, any crypto user’s Data on blockchains are transparent. It is easy to single out those addresses connected to certain games, YFI mining, Curve mining, NFT transactions, and spending on a blockchain.

Our vision has always been “One person, One key, One data space, and Unified data ownership, All in one”. IC has a unique Canister design that can be used to store a user’s identity and social relations data while preserving privacy on-chain.
Data are stored in a personal data space truly owned by the user in question. The data include contacts, contact book, profile, DAO memberships, asset data, and Dapp authorization records. This is the innovation that the Web3 era has given

4. It’s quite unfortunate that many projects have infiltrated the market with just white papers without having any genuine use cases. What are the main utilities of @relationlabs ?
Question by

Santry: Those familiar with our project know that we created the team in October last year and have been operating officially since April this year.
We have not released a white paper because our team always believes that only polishing a good product and continuous innovation is the most important.
When we have gained widespread user recognition and more excellent partners on board, we will be able to hit the ground running at the right time, ensuring that the project remains untouched and indestructible in the long wave of Web3 development.

Relation One is a social network application for Web3 users to manage their homepage and social relations data. Users can discover contacts, find like-minded communities, and join NFT clubs on-chain.
Recently, we launched Bazaar and Web3 homepage. With these encompassing tools, users can view network information relating to more than several millions of social relations graphs and locate their friends on-chain.
The platform also provides information like recommended users, NFT CLub, Dapps, Global Social Graph, and others. Based on these social relations data, we have provided a myriad of social network services.

5. I read on your web”We have successfully developed the world’s first smart contract graph database written and deployed in Rust language, the Relation Graph” tell us more on the smart contract graph database and why it’s important?
Question by

Santry: Actually, Relation graph, the core engine that underpins the entire Relation product line
It is based on the Rust language and is the first graph database that can be deployed on Wasm, providing graph storage, graph query, graph computation, and graph analysis capabilities through it.

Relation Graph is storing the authorized data of users and provides data interfaces to support data analysis and data mining in the upper layer.
Relation Social Graph will synchronize after users update their authorization data and aggregate all users’ authorization data with the public data in each blockchain network.

It will eventually build an N-degree social relationship graph of users based on their on-chain behavior, asset status, and interest preferences in different blockchain networks.

Users or other DApps can quickly get the Relation Social Graph analysis results without complicated calculations when they make deep queries.
All these operations, which were not possible on the native blockchain, became a reality with the technical support of Relation Graph.

We currently provide enriched data analysis modules based on the underlying graph database, including N-degree relationship recommendations, content subscription push, etc.
We will subsequently support higher-order behavioral trend prediction, business intelligence, and other data services.

Q1. I noticed that the Relationlab Team is actively connecting with the crypto gaming guilds to achieve the mass adoption of the relationlab game nevertheless what are your plans for connecting with non-crypto players? What’s relationlabs’s approach to inexperienced non-crypto player?
Question by

Santry: I think the crypto user base is very large and we should prioritize converting this group of users who have knowledge of the blockchain and understand Web3.
Once we get this large group behind us, I think Relation has been very successful, which is enough to compete with Metamask’s tens of millions of DApps.

So at this stage, I don’t think it’s sensible to go out and educate non-crypto currency users. It’s convoluted. It should be a concerted effort by the entire blockchain industry to bring more users to perceive the wonders of the crypto world rather than a project going to the trouble of doing so, which is clearly futile.

Q2. Do you have AUDIT certificates? Or
are you working to AUDIT your project, to make it more secure and reliable ?
Question by

Santry: Firstly, we do not store the user’s private key as a social graph infrastructure. The user signs through Metamask, IC wallet, Polkadot wallet, etc.
We perform a signature check to prove that theirs is the wallet holder and that they will get a unified identity from Relation upon successful login. We do not have access to any of the user’s assets.

As data managers, we ensure that we generate data space for each user that they control for their storage and management. We only access the trading marketplace if they wish to sell their authorized data, which DApps can get for a fee.
So users don’t have to worry about the security of their assets. In the future, when our economic model goes live, we will also conduct contract code audits to ensure the safety of the entire product line.

Q3. How can I stay updated about your project???
Provide all possible links…??
Question by

Q4. Since NFT is popular nowadays, is there a plan for NFT integration?
Question by

Santry: As I mentioned before~ We will release official NFTs in a few months, and users can claim rare NFTs with the medals they have on hand to receive the corresponding airdrop tokens.

So welcome you guys to collect medals and complete tasks to earn the corresponding energy value.
The sooner you enter the Relation ecosystem, the more you can potentially earn in the future!

Q5. Developers can use Relation lab’s support to separately call each modular feature on the Relation one social app. May I explicitly inquire as to what kind of help you provide these developers and how you aid them?
Question by

Santry: Actually, we have incubation programs for developers. we launch developer courses and guide them on how to integrate Relation Link Tool Suite to support their business plan.
We can also offer branding and marketing support.

Host: AMA is concluded!
